University of Oregon heads into a legislative hearing with the State of Oregon without an agreement with the Big 10, but armed with a series of talking points and retro graphics. Besides the missing terms and conditions of a Big 10 agreement (which USC and UCLA have implicit veto power over), UO also fails to discuss the role Nike had in their decision, nor any donor succession plan to make up for Phil Knight’s philanthropy – which are the cornerstone of their arguments about their unique financial independence.
My appeal to the Lane County DA to get a copy of UO’s agreement with the Big 10 (note that UO says it is protected).
Here is the DA’s response. Note that UO claims they have no agreements with the Big 10 to disclose.
